Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT)

The Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer degree is designed for students who intend to transfer to an Oregon university. Completion of the degree will satisfy lower division general education requirements and ensures junior standing at a university for registration purposes. It does not, however, guarantee junior standing within your chosen major, so be sure to work with your MHCC advisor as well as your transfer university advisor to pick the right courses. In some cases, the AS or the AGS may be a better fit for your transfer goals.

Associate of Applied Science (AAS)

Almost all of MHCC's "career technical" (CTE) majors offer an AAS degree at the completion of the program. There are four general education requirements (writing, math, human relations, and health), and the rest of the courses are in your major. CTE majors range from automotive to cybersecurity, dental hygiene to forest resources, and from medical office specialist to surgical technology. Associate of Arts Transfer - English Literature (AAT-English)

This is a statewide transfer degree for English Literature majors and will be accepted by all Oregon public universities as equivalent to the first two years of a bachelor's degree in English Literature. 

Associate of General Studies (AGS)

The AGS degree is a great option for those who don't have specific career or transfer plans, or perhaps your boss will give you a raise if you earn a degree and doesn't care what you major in. It is a very flexible degree so can be customized to meet your needs!

Associate of General Studies in Health Professions Exploration (AGSH)

This degree allows students to explore a variety of health care fields while also taking prerequisites for various health professions programs at MHCC and other colleges. While you're waiting to get into a program, you can complete the degree, then earn an AAS degree in another program such as nursing, respiratory care, surgical technology, dental hygiene and more!

Associate of General Studies in Music (AGS-Music)

If your goal includes transferring to a university in Oregon to earn a Bachelor of Music (BMus) degree, this option may be right for you! Designed with our partner universities in mind, the AGS in Music allows you to learn music for two years while also completing some of the first two years of university requirements. Be sure to work with your MHCC faculty adviser and your transfer university to choose the right courses.

Associate of Science (AS)

The AS degree may be a better fit for certain majors than the AAOT if you plan to transfer. There is slightly more room for additional math or science coursework in the AS, making it a great option for those planning to transfer to a university in a STEM major, or even in fine arts. Be sure to work with your transfer university to choose the right courses at MHCC to make your transfer process as smooth as possible.

Associate of Science in Engineering (ASEN)

If you're planning to transfer to an Oregon university to get a bachelor's degree in engineering, this degree puts you on a path toward that goal. Be sure to work with your MHCC engineering adviser as well as your preferred transfer school(s) to choose the right courses.

Associate of Science in Liberal Arts (ASLA)

If you're planning on transferring to a university and majoring in something that will lead to a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree, this may be a great choice for you! BA degrees in Oregon's public universities require two years of a second language through the 203 college-level. This degree includes two years of a second language as well as many of the courses required in the first two years of university studies.

Associate of Science Transfer in Biology (AST-Biology)

This is a statewide transfer degree for biology majors and will be accepted by all Oregon public universities as equivalent to the first two years of a bachelor's degree in biology. It's also the starting path for students interested in MHCC's partnership with Pacific University for the PharmD Bridge program where students can earn their associate degree and doctorate in pharmacy (PharmD) in just 5 years!

Associate of Science Transfer in Business (AST-Business)

This is a statewide transfer degree for business majors and will be accepted by all Oregon public universities as equivalent to the first two years of a bachelor's degree in business. 

Associate of Science Transfer in Computer Science - PSU, OSU, UO

If you're planning to study computer science and transfer to Portland State University, Oregon State University, or University of Oregon, this is the degree for you!

Associate of Science Transfer in Computer Science - EOU, SOU, WOU

If you're planning to study computer science and transfer to Eastern Oregon University, Southern Oregon University, or Western Oregon University, this is the degree for you!
